What do you do when you find yourself frustrated by someone because of what they are or aren’t doing? Do you handle this by getting angry with them? Or, do you distance yourself from them?
The next time you find yourself frustrated by someone change your perspective of them. Instead of seeing people as wrong or broken, ask yourself, “What if they’re doing the best they know how?”
When you see people as doing their best, it shifts your perspective from seeing them as limited, to see their potential. Perhaps a little coaching or mentoring would help them understand something different. Possibly teaching them a new skill would help shift their best to something more.
To help people grow, you need to first see the potential in them. It’s what leaders do.
You’ve got this.
