Tuckman’s model for team formation tells us teams will go through a series of phases. The second phase is storming, when the team’s productivity is low and conflict high. What happens when a team gets stuck in storming?

There are many reasons a team might be stuck in storming. One of the most overlooked factors is how leadership might be keeping them stuck.

Are you being directive as you try to help them get unstuck? Are you focused on supporting only one or two people and causing a divide in the team. Have you asked them how you can support their work?
