I remember when I signed up for my first leadership program. It was 2012, and I signed up to get the knowledge I thought would help me be a better leader. I wanted people to view me as an expert and, as a result, follow me.

While the knowledge has been helpful, the knowledge does not make me a leader. Understanding myself and how I interact with my world enables my leadership. This awareness of myself allows me to push through fears, choose my next step and connect with others.

Never stop getting to know yourself better. Understanding yourself better is a gift to both you and those you lead. You might be amazed at where the true leader in you can take things.

You’ve got this.
