I once worked with a team who was struggling with low morale. In fact, their morale was in a downward spiral.

When management asked for my help, it didn’t take long to find some problems. The easier things to fix were installing a drinking water filter, ensuring they had adequate supplies, etc.

The bigger factor impacting team morale was that management also had low morale. The managers knew they had a problem with morale, but didn’t think it was important. They just thought low morale was the nature of being on a management team.

Your reality is their reality. When leaders have low morale, they unintentionally will bring down team morale. To fix morale or other problems on your team, start by looking at what is true for you.

You’ve got this.
