Are you a good planner? Are you able to put together a plan which leaves you thinking “what a masterpiece!”

Malcolm Gladwell has said it takes 10,000 hours to reach an expert level at something. As a Project Manager, I spent almost 15 years creating and updating plans. Does that make me an expert at planning?

Truthfully, I think what it made me an expert in is knowing leadership is not about the plans. Leadership is the ability to respond to whatever happens in a moment of time.

Planning isn’t a bad thing. However, your leadership will be
defined by your responses and not your plans.
