You’ve led the team through some stormy waters. You might have been ready to give up all hope of the team getting along with each other. Yet, as they started listening to each other more, things started to smooth out some. They’ve begun to enter a phase known as norming, and is when a new normal starts to reveal itself.
In norming, the team is likely productive and doing a decent job. They’ve been learning to collaborate and are likely spending more time listening. The team might revert to storming at times, which means they’ve stopped listening to each other.
To keep the team moving forward, continue to create the conditions to make listening and sharing possible. Through this, you will start to notice how the team is humming along!
