What do you do when people need inspiration? What about when they’ve failed at something? Then, there are the times the team is in conflict, and they need your help working through it.
Every day, leaders will shift between several stances to give people the lead they need and want. Some of these stances will come easily for you. You’ll likely avoid other stances as they are too uncomfortable.
Pay attention to your comfort level with the different stances you find yourself called to, and those you avoid.
Use this awareness to strengthen all of your leadership stances. Read about them, take a workshop, find a mentor or coach, and stop avoiding taking a stance.
Hint: you’re likely better than you give yourself credit for, so go for it.
