Have you noticed how, when you put a group of people together, they immediately become a team? Of course not, that’s not how team building works, despite some people trying.
The making of a team is a long process. After bringing a group together, you need to align with them on things like process, goals and more.
Then, the real work of making the group a team begins. As they bump into problems, you have the opportunity to bring them closer together. It might be in enhancing the conditions for them to trust each other more fully. Or, it might be through helping them learn to disagree and debate issues.
Whatever is needed, your leadership helps them become and stay a team, one step at a time.
You’ve got this.
