Shame is the feeling you get when you believe you’ve done something wrong. You’re blaming yourself for a problem in your life. We all experience shame at times, as it’s in our wiring.

I’ve noticed how much people try to use shame as a tactic to change something. You can see people trying to shame others due to their beliefs around face masks, black lives matter, or any other cause. The problem is that shaming is not a tool for bringing about change. At best, you will widen the divide that is created by the problem you’re trying to help.

I don’t know what will solve the world’s problems. But, I do know we’re not going to get anywhere by shaming each other or ourselves.
