Do you find yourself fighting for people and resources? It’s often a zero-sum game played out in many organizations, where managers are looking to win, even at another departments’ expense. Overall, it’s a lose-lose scenario, though. If one team is falling short, then that’s everyone’s problem.

There’s a good chance you might not be able to change the processes requiring you to play this game. However, you can play the game on your terms. What would be different if you collaborated with your peers to find a solution that helps the company achieve its goals? After all, helping the company succeed is the reason you’re there.

Collaborating to find solutions, and not letting process constrain you. Sounds like leadership to me.
