You likely know the feeling of walking into a room and wondering what just happened. This experience leaves you feeling anxious, which people often dismiss as it’s too uncomfortable to confront. However, the anxiety is information you may want to pay attention to.

You have a system in you that will take you down one of two paths. One path will have you evaluating and controlling the anxiety. The other will have you seeking the truth and gaining clarity about a problem. Guess which one leads to problem solving, growth, and improvement?

I use a few simple steps when I feel anxious:

1) Allow the anxiety to be what it is and don’t push it away
2) Breathe as the mind works better with a little oxygen and silence
3) Curiosity to get clear about the problem behind the anxiety

Anxiety is information. What you do with that feeling is leadership.

You’ve got this.
