I’ve spent a large part of my life living up to someone else’s expectations. Take my blog posts, for example. I’m regularly trying to craft my posts, so I don’t upset someone. As you might imagine, it’s an expensive way of working as it consumes a lot of brainpower to get it right.
Leaders take a stand for what they believe and inspire others to follow through their actions. It doesn’t mean everyone will agree with you, and in fact, you may piss some people off along the way. However, speaking your truth and without compromise is what leaders do.
So, no more worrying about what someone might think of me. Besides, I’m likely my biggest critic anyways.
You’ll find leadership much easier when you stop worrying about what others might think about you. Go for it.
