The road to hell is paved with good intentions. I had a visceral reaction when I read this recently, “Wait! What? No!”
The way to move forward in life is to set intentions for yourself. The words may differ, but every day and all day, you consciously and subconsciously set intentions.
Some of those intentions work out, and you will fall short with others. Regardless of the outcome, though, a good intention will only take you to hell if you choose to take that path. Beating yourself up, shrinking in shame, or judging yourself might feel like hell.
Don’t take the path to hell. Instead, acknowledge the failed intention and learn from it. Maybe, it wasn’t the right intention or time.
I’d propose we start saying, “The road to something great is paved with good intentions.”
You’ve got this.
