Do you ever look at a problem and decide to ignore it until it goes away? You might want to reconsider this strategy as it is rooted in a mindset known as denial. While denial is a powerful mindset, it does nothing to resolve the problem you’re facing.

Denial is a coping mindset we all have in our wiring. Being in denial means you will not acknowledge that you have a problem, as perhaps it’s just too painful to face.

When it comes to problem-solving, denial is an expensive leadership strategy. Denial will cost you in productivity as people live with problems. Denial will lead to some of your best people leaving. Denial certainly won’t help your customers feel good about working with you.

Stop ignoring problems in hopes that they will go away. No matter how difficult, confront your problems and find lasting solutions.

You’ve got this.
