Think of something in your life that you love doing. In fact, you love it so much that you think about it a lot and can hardly wait to get back to it. When you love what you’re doing, it hardly seems like work, even though you might spend hours doing it.
Do the people on your team love their work? Love might be overstating the feeling, but do they like it so much that they don’t need much motivation?
If not, you might want to start looking at why that is. You might find clues in the work, environment, or perhaps even your leadership? Better yet, ask the team what would need to be different to love what they do.
