What is the impact on you when someone is being emotional? The emotions might be positive or negative, and both can be uncomfortable when they show up.

Emotions are: “A natural instinctive state of mind deriving from one’s circumstances, mood, or relationships with others.” — dictionary.com

The keywords are that emotions are natural and instinctive. We do not have the ability to turn emotions off. You might be able to control or deny emotions briefly, but they are still there.

What happens when your emotions are the result of what someone else did or said? As a leader, it is important to be aware of your own emotions. When triggered you might even feel hijacked. Do you know what to do with your emotions?

Over the next three days, I will give you a simple framework to handle the emotions and create something better.
