Think of what it would be like to be a great leader today? Now, think about what you are missing, that would make you that great leader.

People will tell me about things they are missing: one more certification, domain expertise, experience in challenging situations and much more. There is no end to the things you can acquire that would likely enhance your leadership.

However, you will struggle to be a great leader if you focus on acquiring more things. This is scarcity in action, in which you will never have enough. I know leaders with dozens of certifications who still doubt their leadership.

You already have everything you need to be a great leader. You just need to get out of your own way and go for it. Trust your intuition, be curious and empathetic and stop doubting yourself.

You can be a great leader today. With more experience, knowledge and skill, I know you will be an even greater leader tomorrow.
