Throughout my life, there are many things I learned from my Mom. Likely, one of the biggest lessons is just how meaningful connections are to life. Mom thought connections were so important that during the pandemic lockdown, she reached out to talk with at least one friend every day.

One study I read suggests connections have many benefits for the brain. Connections reduce stress, combat depression, enhance intellectual stimulation, and keep the mind sharp.

In this time of working from home and isolation, don’t forget to keep the connections vibrant. Phone someone or get on a video chat with them. Better yet, go for a driveway visit, as nothing can replace the benefits of face-to-face connection.

My Mom knew what the world needs, and doesn’t the world need connections right now.

You’ve got this.
