Opportunities are a set of circumstances which make something possible. The first circumstance is that you create the opportunity.

An opportunity might present itself by finding the courage to ask for it. It could be you have taken an action which results in finding the opportunity. It’s also possible you’re just finally seeing what’s right in front of you.

The people you lead want opportunities. Sometimes, though, they’re telling themselves a story which is keeping them from finding the opportunities. Their stories are rooted in fears and assumptions.

Leaders help people move past their stories to create opportunities. With opportunities, people will grow and find new ways forward. Give them a chance for opportunity, and you will love what grows.
