With so many people working from home, one of the advantages can be the lack of interruptions. One of the downsides can be the lack of interruptions.

Without interruptions, you’re more likely to get lost in your work for extended periods. Too much mental focus can lead to mental exhaustion, degraded quality and more.

I use the Pomodoro technique when writing. Each Pomodoro consists of 25 minutes of work, and a 5-minute break away from your devices. Then, once every 3-4 Pomodoros, I take a 15-20 minute break.

To help with my focus and clarity, I also limit myself to one topic per Pomodoro. It helps me to avoid the downside of task switching.

Look in your favourite app store for a Pomodoro timer. There’s plenty of free ones available.

You’ve got this.
