I was once in a situation where I felt attacked. It seemed that nothing I did mattered, and despite all of my good intentions, the effort I put into our objectives didn’t matter. I know I’m partly responsible for such a situation, and at the same time, it was pissing me off.

I was stressed, depressed, and generally unpleasant. It got so bad that after nearly 35 years with the organization, I was fed up and ready to walk away.

What I’ve come to see is that the only person with a problem was me. I’m sure others were stressed, but my upset was impacting me and only me.

Why empower others with that kind of power? Step into your leadership and accept that a situation is not about you. Stop letting situations control you, and dedicate your energy to changing the world around you one step at a time.

Where are you putting your energy?

You’ve got this.
