A fixation or obsession with metrics. Restrictive and expensive processes due to a mistake in the past. An unwillingness to trust due to being let down in the past.

There are many ways you can spend your days looking in the rear view mirror. The problem is the more you look in the rear view mirror, the more your team will be looking there too. How do you expect your team to move forward when they’re so busy looking backwards?

It’s OK to take a quick peek in the mirror. Just don’t stare at it.
