In my life, this week is full of life, gifts, love and so many other wonderful things. I’m not talking about the celebration of Christmas, rather just my own celebration of a very successful experiment. Given many of you might be busy with the holiday season next week, I am going to celebrate with you a week early.

The experiment is this newsletter. I set out one year ago to conduct an experiment with this newsletter. My hypothesis was simple. Through sharing a small thought based on my personal experiences each week I would impact people’s lives in ways I could not imagine a year ago.

Over this past year, I have heard so many of your stories and appreciations for what and how I’m sharing. Your stories are heart warming, whether it helped you get out of a difficult career situation, open communication with a family member, or simply help you see you’re exactly where you should be in life. Whatever the story they are wonderful to hear.

So my experiment is now complete. This is no longer an experiment (it hasn’t been for a while, to be honest) and will continue to be a part of my life as I get so much from these simple thoughts.

In the coming weeks, you will notice a change to how I’m sending this. It’s possible the look and feel will change, but you can count on me continuing to share in this way as I love the time I spend doing this.

In the meantime, I’d love your help by giving me a few minutes of your time to complete this simple survey. Your stories and feedback will help guide me as I continue this wonderful journey.

Finally, let me thank you from the bottom of my heart. All the writing in the world is pointless without readers, and you have made this such a wonderful experience for me.

This week’s thought:

Knowing the impact this newsletter is having in the world, takes a willingness to listen on my part. It takes putting aside my ego, my preconceived notions, my judgements and so much more. It takes truly listening and seeing what is happening in the world around me.

Many of you may take some time off during the coming weeks, whether or not you celebrate Christmas. I invite you to slow life down a little during this season and celebrate the impact you had in the world this year.

What are the signs pointing to how you made someone’s life even a little bit better this year? What impact did you have in the communities you are a part of? What signs did you write off as you’re judging yourself or let your ego get in the way?

I believe all of us impacts the world around us in ways we cannot imagine. We just need to listen to the signs to see how we matter.
