When things are uncertain, you might find yourself feeling anxious. One way to deal with your anxiety is to use the illusion of certainty to your advantage. This common illusion comes in many forms – detailed plans, comprehensive processes, thorough PowerPoint decks, and more.

Or, you could keep yourself rooted in reality and embrace the anxiety you’re feeling. The anxiety you’re feeling is your intuition talking and information you can use to look for the places which need your attention.

If you find yourself thinking the future is certain, you might want to re-examine what you believe. The future is never certain. Plans, documentation, and processes are all fine. However, these things can also leave you blind to reality.

Don’t subscribe to the illusion of certainty. You’re a leader. I know you can handle the anxiety that comes with uncertainty.

You’ve got this.
