I was working with a team that was struggling to improve their results. So we looked in all the obvious places for what might be causing the poor results, such as quality, skill, work practices, and more.

It wasn’t until we stopped looking at the problem that we could see the environment around the team.

A water cooler, a fresh coat of paint, and a coffee maker were all it took to change things for the team. From there, it became possible to start improving their work practices, quality, and other factors.

Sometimes to find a solution, all you have to do is to stop looking at the problem.

You’ve got this.
