The other day I found myself wondering if I’m making a big enough difference in the world. For example, do I touch enough lives with this blog, or do I need to invest my time in something more significant?

You only control the impact a stone has when you throw it into a pond. After the impact occurs, though, you have no control over where the ripples will go. You won’t even know how far the ripples travel.

In leadership, you only have control over your impact. The ripples created by the impact will travel through time, and you’re unlikely to know how far they go. Not knowing how far the ripples travel is one of the mysteries and fun parts of leadership.

You never know where the ripples will travel when you help one person shine a little brighter.
