I live in Canada, where our seasons are all about change. I’m sitting in my backyard right now, enjoying a spring evening while writing this newsletter.

There is a warm breeze gently moving past me, bringing with it the promise of warmer days ahead. The trees are gaining their green haze, a sure sign they are about to unfurl the green canopy for the summer. The birds are busy going about their business. I can hear robins, cardinals, finches, red-winged blackbirds and grackles all filling the air with song.

Spring is a time of renewal, in which the cold darker days of winter are now behind us. What’s ahead is a mystery, and yet somehow I know it will be full of learning, fun, and adventure.

A couple of years ago it felt more like I was walking through winter. It was cold and dark and was certainly not living life as full of life as I’d want. It’s as if something needed to die to make room for something even more beautiful.

Today and for some time now I have felt as if spring is upon me. It’s a time for renewal; it’s a time for freshness. It’s a time to go out in the world and play and live life fully every single day!

I figure one day winter will descend on me again. That’s OK; I also know it’s only a temporary state, and spring will come once again.

Thought of the week

Every morning I remind myself how fortunate I am to have the life I do. Today is a renewed chance at life regardless of what happened yesterday.

It doesn’t matter how old or young you are, whether you feel like your life has been in a rut, or you’re exhausted from all the movement.

If you’re struggling with a broken relationship, rather than focusing on the loss, pay attention to the new things in your life because you have more room in your heart.

If you’re struggling with a job you hate but need the income for the moment, then try focusing on what your job makes possible in your life rather than how it’s dragging you down.

In other words, regardless of what has you feeling stuck or down today, what is the positive side of any situation?

It’s spring! It’s a time of renewal. Seize the opportunity to live your life fully.

Something exciting is coming!
