Companies hire me for my ability to lead them towards increased success. Leading requires me to step into all kinds of situations. Truthfully, I am comfortable in almost any situation.

Despite my comfort with leading, I look for every opportunity to let my client lead. I am right beside them to help prepare, and in case something gets tough or slips. I let them lead because there is no better way to learn than by leading.

Letting my client lead also means they are less likely to develop a dependency on me. My clients will increasingly lead without me, using the things I teach them. Their independence is a sign of their growth and progress.

As a leader, your job is to enable the success of your team. I do not know of a better way to help the team succeed than to let them lead more often. Take the back seat more often and be there to support them.

Who says you cannot lead them from the back of the room?

You’ve got this.
