How does your team respond when asked to take on ‘one more little thing?’ Do they accept the request, believing they have no choice? Do they give up their personal time to get through it all?

The unintended impact of ‘one more little thing’ can be significant. How often is it only one more thing? Busyness, even busyness caused by little things, can result in low quality, morale, ownership and more.

Stop asking the team to take on ‘one more little thing.’ They likely don’t believe the ’one more’ part of it anyways.

Good decisions require good information. Rather than asking them to take on ‘one more little thing,’ ask about the impact of accepting the request. Then, you’ll have good information, and you’ll know the right thing to do.
