I can’t work on my desktop computer when I want to be creative. My desktop is great when working on complex tasks but too distracting when I want to be creative.

These are the times I turn to my iPad and go somewhere else, such as the basement, backyard, or a park.

Whether you’re trying to be creative, concentrate on something complex, or just get in the flow of your work, sometimes you have to remove the distractions.

Try this the next time you want to focus: spend a few minutes making a list of all the things on your mind. Be sure to include non-work-related items.

Now, put the list away until you’re ready to return to all the little things.

Find a way to clear the distractions and watch how things start flowing.

You’ve got this.
