According to Dictionary.com, the word problem, ” originally denoting a riddle or a question for academic discussion.” Through time the definition evolved to be, “a matter or situation regarded as unwelcome or harmful and needing to be dealt with and overcome.”

I’d propose we return to the original definition. In doing this, we might feel less anxious about problems. With less anxiety, you are more likely to invoke a healthy dialogue around problems. Instead of laying blame, you might share in finding lasting solutions. Rather than making excuses, together, you will stop coping with the problems.

Let’s make 2020 the year to start coping with problems less and solving problems more.

You’ve got this.
