We live in a world where someone’s potential is often defined by their skills and knowledge. While skills and knowledge are essential, it is the choices you make that define your leadership.

I once coached a leadership team where the company had a culture of blame in which every problem is someone else’s. While the mindset of blame might feel good temporarily, you will not resolve problems by laying blaming.

Laying blame and other controlling mindsets are a choice. You will find more powerful solutions when you face your problems, despite the discomfort of looking there.

The choices you make define your leadership, including your unproductive choices. What are you going to choose to do today?
