I once worked for a leader who thought the best way to get good results happened because people did things the same way, every time.
He believed this so strongly that he built an extensive wiki defining how to do our work.
Nobody used his wiki. For one, it was far too complex to be able to find anything useful.
More importantly, people’s experiences were telling them that there’s a better way to do things.
There are often many ways to do something. Rather than telling the team your way, create an environment in which the team can find their best way.
After all, you hired people for what they know. Why not trust them to put that knowledge to work?
You’ve got this.
