Do the people you lead know the value in the activities they do each day? When people know why an activity is valuable, they are more likely to do the right thing. They are also more likely to know when they are doing something that does not make sense.
Every morning a team leader asked his team to talk about the value of what they were doing. Through this ongoing conversation, the team found numerous instances where something did not make sense. They also found their understanding of value changed as a result of something they learned the day before. Their evolving understanding of value contributed to creating the conditions for their success.
Don’t stop talking about value with your team. You might just learn something new.
You’ve got this.
