It’s always easier to see problems with other people than it is with yourself.

Take, for example, when someone says they don’t trust somebody. With a little probing, I often find the real problem is that this person doesn’t trust themselves first. It might be they don’t trust their ability to provide criticism without doing harm. It might be they don’t think they’re smart or quick enough to be in a debate with the person.

Seeing something in others is an opportunity to see it in yourself as well. The next time you find yourself labelling or criticizing another person in some way, take a moment to notice how it might be true for you too. It won’t be as obvious and might amount to a small thing. However, it’s an opportunity to learn and grow.

You’ve got this.
