It is said, you are as good as the five best people you hang out with. This means, of course, a team is as good as the people on the team.

While processes and tools are important, supporting the team’s development is more important. Do you send them on training? Do you give them company time to learn? Do they take the time to help them reflect on their experiences and grow as a result?

As a leader, help people grow every day. Do not let budget be a constraint as this is too important. When you invest in your people, the payback will be that both you and the team will be hanging out with better people.
