My blog posts normally end with, “You’ve got this.” It’s an acknowledgement to champion you to be a better leader than you were yesterday. Truthfully, though, a more appropriate ending might be, “You don’t have this.” I say this because you don’t, and neither do I.

The moment a leader can acknowledge they are on a journey that they will never get right, they can grow from the experience. Your ability to grow depends on your ability to admit that you don’t know something openly, a fear is overwhelming you, or the mess you created has you feeling lost.

I don’t know if I’m going to switch my tag line. However, I want to help you find ways to grow by acknowledging what you don’t have.

What are you willing to acknowledge that you don’t have today? It’s what leaders do.

You’ve got this.
