“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It’s not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

— Marianne Williamson

Thought of the week

When you were born, you had a natural ability to shine. You went out in the world and behaved the only way you knew how; as you! With time, you were taught stories of what you should or should not do. You may have even been told you were too much and how you make other people uncomfortable, so you tamed yourself down.

It’s time to let go of the stories you are telling yourself, and let your light shine in the world! Each of us has this power within us. We, humans, are wrestling with some pretty big problems in the world, and more than ever we need all of us to shine brightly.

So what is the craziest thing you could do today, which would just feel so right? Stand up on the commuter train and sing a song? Stand on a street corner giving out free hugs? Stop to listen to the stories of a stranger? Whatever it is your heart wants to do, I challenge you to go out and do it today!
