Rather than measuring people on meeting deadlines or revenue targets, why not measure them on how they helped to improve your team or organization?

Much like airplanes and cars, asking people to work at 110% will decrease the quality and burn them out.
You never know who or how you’re going to help by pushing through your fears.
Simply telling them how much you like working with them might be the thing that helps them put their stories aside.
When someone asks if you’re a leader or manager, simply answer by saying, “Yes.”
